All you need to know about Year Five and Six!

Hello and welcome to a brand new year at St. Michael's! Year 5 and 6 have settled in well to their new classes and teachers. Each class is now named after a famous Bath figure- Class 4 is Nash, Class 5 is Allen and Class 6 is Wood.

Our theme this term is Brilliant Britain. The children have been learning about what makes our country so amazing, including exploring the local geography, key moments in British history and famous historical figures.

This term, Upper School visited London and saw many of the landmarks of our capital city, including the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, the Horse Guards' Parade, St James' Park and Buckingham Palace. The children had a fantastic time spotting the sights and avoiding the seagulls and pelicans in the park whilst picnic-ing. They then experienced an earthquake and made friends with the dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum before hitting the souvenir shops and heading back home again, tired but happy!

Coming up before Christmas, we will be inviting parents and grandparents into school to take part in World War Two day on 17th November at 2pm. Mill on the Brue and Activity Week is also coming up, so get the wellies ready! We will then be warming up our voices for Carols by Candlelight and St. Michael's Got Talent at the end of term.
